Modem Maker Offers Voice, Data Product

Logicode Technology Inc., a Camarillo modem producer, has introduced a new product that offers simultaneous voice and data transmission.

“Widespread personal computing has created the need for sharing a voice line with a modem,” says Allen H. Gharapetian, the company’s marketing manager.

He said that the new modem, called Digital Simultaneous Voice and Data, will revolutionize the way people use PCs.

“Now users with a single standard telephone line can do things that previously required two separate phone lines,” he said.

The new unit allows users to call one another and converse before switching into a data-sending mode.

The device enables users to discuss fax or data transmissions at the time they are delivered, Gharapetian said.
