Optical Corp. to Link With Photo Research

Optical Corp., an Oxnard producer of high-tech optical products for industrial and other applications, is to be consolidated with a Chatsworth concern, Photo Research. Optical is a subsidiary of Excel Technology Inc., a Hauppauge, N.Y., company that recently acquired Photo Research.
Bill McIntyre, president of Optical, will also become president of Photo Research. Rama Rao, Excel’s chairman and chief executive, praised him for doing “an excellent job in managing Optical Corp.’s assets and making it profitable in record time.”
Excel acquired Photo Research from Kallmorgen Corp. for $3.5 million in cash. No additional personnel changes were announced at the Oxnard company.
