Woman, 71, Killed When Hit by Car in Crosswalk

BURBANK — A 71-year-old Burbank woman was killed Tuesday when she was hit by a car as she crossed Buena Vista Street, police said.
The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of her family, was on a crosswalk on Buena Vista Street, just north of Victory Boulevard, about 9 a.m. when a car driven by Gilbert Ramos, 26, of Sun Valley turned onto Buena Vista Street and hit her, Burbank Police Lt. Larry Dow said.
Paramedics rushed the woman to St. Joseph Medical Center, where she died a short time later, Dow said.
No arrest was made, and police are seeking additional witnesses, Dow said.
