Cypress College baseball Coach Scott Pickler has been selected to coach at the USA Baseball national trials in Homestead, Fla., which runs today through Sunday.

Sixty-six players will be divided into three squads, with Pickler and Louisville Coach Lelo Prado leading the blue squad. The 1996 Olympic baseball team will be selected from that group.

Among the local players invited are Cal State Fullerton’s Mark Kotsay, Brian Loyd and Jerome Alviso, Rancho Santiago’s Tony Zuniga and Tennessee’s Augie Ojeda, who helped Cypress win the 1994 State championship.
