CROSS-COUNTRY ROUNDUP : Mortensen Better Than Par for Course Again

Kim Mortensen notched her fifth course record of the season Tuesday while leading Thousand Oaks High to its second consecutive Marmonte League championship. Mortensen took 17 minutes 47 seconds to cover the three-mile course at College Park in Oxnard, shaving eight seconds off the mark posted by Breanne Schweitzer of Saugus in the 1995 Raider Invitational.
Thousand Oaks (7-0 in league meets) defeated Agoura (6-1), 21-37, and Channel Islands (0-7), 15-50. Agoura defeated Channel Islands, 15-47.
BOYS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Thousand Oaks 20, Agoura 41; Thousand Oaks 21, Channel Islands 37; Channel Islands 23, Agoura 34--Josh Carolan finished first and Todd Disney ran second at College Park in Oxnard for the Lancers (7-0), who clinched their fourth consecutive Marmonte League championship.
