A high-speed chase on four freeways after a Friday morning armed robbery in Fontana ended in a foot chase in a South-Central Los Angeles neighborhood as two of the three suspects were arrested.
Melvin Bell, 22, Christopher Kenneth Raglund, 30, and a third man allegedly robbed a Fontana convenience store about 9 a.m. and fled in a car, police said.
Fontana police and California Highway Patrol officers chased the car west on the San Bernardino Freeway, then to the southbound Golden State Freeway, down to the westbound Santa Monica Freeway and finally to the southbound Harbor Freeway, CHP officers said.
The suspects got off the freeway and ditched the car while it was still running near 83rd Street and Vermont Avenue, police said. It drifted safely into a vacant lot, officers said.
