Continental, Comcast Subpoenaed in Probe: Two cable television companies that loudly criticized Time Warner Inc.’s purchase of Turner Broadcasting System Inc. have received subpoenas in the government’s antitrust review of the proposed media mega-merger. Continental Cablevision Inc. Vice Chairman Timothy Neher, who sits on Turner’s board of directors, was asked to answer questions and turn over documents about the competitive impact of the merger on the cable television business, a company spokesman said. Comcast Corp. has also received a subpoena as the Federal Trade Commission begins to move on its review of the planned merger, according to a person familiar with the investigation. Comcast officials did not return calls seeking comment.
