Central Los Angeles : HELP NEEDED
A church in South-Central Los Angeles is looking for volunteers to help feed as many as 2,000 homeless and hungry people on Sunday.
The fifth annual pre-Thanksgiving feast and gospel concert at the Love, Peace and Happiness Christian Fellowship Church on Manchester Avenue served 1,000 people last year. This year, the church will use two buses donated by the city to pick up homeless and hungry people from the streets and housing projects, shuttling them to the church parking lot, where the celebration will begin at 1 p.m.
The church also is seeking donations of uncooked food: turkeys, green beans, dinner rolls and soft drinks. Information: (213) 758-1084.
