Chaminade 34, Alhambra 26--The Eagles (10-1) raced to a 20-7 halftime lead and held off a late charge by the Moors at Chaminade.

Chaminade’s Jason Giovannettone rushed for 147 yards in 14 carries. Jason Zdenek completed seven of 12 passes for 63 yards, rushed for 37 yards and a touchdown. Giovannettone scored on a seven-yard run and a nine-yard pass from Zdenek.

Alhambra (5-6), which trailed 34-6, scored three touchdowns in the game’s final five minutes. After the Moors recovered an onsides kick with 10 seconds remaining, Gilbert Castadenas completed a 19-yard pass to Phil Huertas at the Chaminade 35, but time expired before Alhambra could run another play.
