* Re “Anti-Airport Initiative Qualified” (Nov. 7):
Is my memory playing tricks on me, or did I read in The Times a few years ago that Orange County was so desperate for an international airport that dredging one up out of the ocean [was suggested], or shaving off the hills behind San Clemente to build one because El Toro would never be available? Do these anti-airport groups realize that El Toro has a built-in “sound zone” of land without houses? If no airport is built, I’m sure the whole thing would eventually be covered with houses . . . just what we need in south Orange County!
