HUNTINGTON BEACH : Officer Trains Others About Gangs in Idaho

School Resource Officer Randy Payne recently returned from Jerome, Idaho, where he spent five days training police officers there about gang violence.
The 14 cities and four counties that make up the Magic Valley area of Idaho have experienced a disturbing increase in gang violence, Payne said.
Jim Dahl, a retired Huntington Beach police sergeant, is now the police chief in Jerome. Dahl enlisted Payne’s help and arranged for him to travel to Idaho for the training program. Service clubs in Jerome paid for transportation.
