San Diego Lands Thiele of Chaminade

Sweeper Vanessa Thiele of Chaminade High has orally committed to the University of San Diego.
Thiele, the Mission League player of the year last soccer season, helped the Eagles win their first league title and advance to the second round of the Southern Section Division II playoffs.
Thiele also considered Pepperdine, Pacific and Santa Clara.
Track and Field
The first of two all-comers meets is scheduled for today at Antelope Valley College.
Field events start at 2 p.m., followed by running events at 2:30. The second meet is set for Jan. 12.

Registration for the Valley Christian Athletic Assn. youth season is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Encino.
