Panel to Consider Objections to Denial of Liquor Permit
- Share via
A Los Angeles appeals panel on Jan. 16 will consider objections to a zoning official’s denial of a city permit for a Van Nuys gas station to sell alcoholic beverages.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will review an appeal by Unocal Corp. of a decision made by Associate Zoning Administrator Horace Tramel. In an Oct. 23 report, Tramel refused to grant the liquor permit because, he said, there are enough liquor outlets in the area and because of the neighborhood’s high crime rate.
Neighbors and City Councilman Marvin Braude, who represents the area, oppose the liquor permit but say they like the renovation project otherwise.
