LA HABRA : Approval Expected on Tougher City Codes

The city’s building and fire codes are being revised to conform with changes in recommended national standards.
City Council members are expected to give final approval to the revisions at a meeting next month. City officials say the revisions will redefine plumbing and electrical standards.
The new laws will require, among other things, that roof coverings be fire retardant and that aluminum be prohibited as a wiring conductor, officials said.
