Thanks to Workers

People who work on Christmas don’t get enough thanks, frequently because their jobs are invisible. At about 2 a.m. on Christmas morning, I saw someone--I presume a Caltrans employee--coning off a section of the 405 that had developed a pothole (so the radio traffic announcer declared). He appeared to be working out of his own car. By 9 a.m. the same day, I saw a work crew filling the hole. By 5 p.m., the road was fully restored to service.
Thank you, Caltrans, for fixing the road (on Christmas!). Thanks also to all the cops, firefighters and others who had to work on the holiday.
