Micropolis Warns of Bigger Quarterly Loss: Micropolis Corp., a maker of computer disk drives and storage systems, said it expected to report bigger losses in the fourth quarter, sparking a steep drop in its stock. The stock fell $1.875 to close at $3.25 on Nasdaq trading. Micropolis also said it will sell its disk drive business, including the Micropolis name, to an unidentified buyer, and post a first-quarter charge of about $400,000 to cut jobs at its Chatsworth headquarters.
