. . . Dry Santa Ana winds caused a weeklong winter heat wave, sending temperatures to 82 degrees in inland Orange County.
It was a record-breaking 87 degrees in Los Angeles, besting the 63-year-old record by one degree. Before the week was out, temperatures reached 87 degrees in Orange County too.
