Lecture on Child Discipline Today

Parents and others interested in effective ways to discipline children are invited to a free lecture today at the Children’s Wonderland, a Newbury Park day-care center that also offers family counseling.
The speaker, licensed counselor Shirley Allen, will discuss specific techniques in child discipline.
“My key is to teach them respect,” Allen said. “Instead of kids getting involved in gang wars and drugs, we can curtail this by working with preschoolers and teaching respect and kindness.” The one-hour lecture will begin at 5 p.m. at 107 Teardrop Court. For information, call 375-7788.
