South Bay : Officer Accused of Passing Fatal Crash

A Los Angeles International Airport police officer is under investigation for allegedly driving past the scene of an unattended fatal car accident on his way to a doughnut shop last month.
Lt. Kathleen Green confirmed that 13-year airport police veteran Merinio Labio is the focus of a “neglected duty” investigation stemming from the Jan. 18 accident on Imperial Highway.
Green said a witness reported seeing a police car drive past the scene and moments later pull into a doughnut shop, but added that the officer maintains that he took a alternate route to the doughnut shop and never passed the accident.
