Buena Blanks Redondo, 2-0

J.J. Delgado scored in the 57th minute and Jose Mendoza scored in the 64th minute Wednesday to power the Buena High boys’ soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Redondo in a Southern Section Division II second-round playoff game at Buena High.

Buena (16-4-2) visits Channel League rival Rio Mesa today at 3 p.m. in a quarterfinal. Redondo is 17-8-1.

Riverside Notre Dame 3, Village Christian 1--Saro Amirian scored for the Crusaders (12-7-5) in a Division V loss to the Titans (24-1-2).

GIRLS

Arroyo Grande 3, Santa Clara 2--Santa Clara’s Isela Amezuun twice tied the Division IV second-round game, with goals in the 22nd and 55th minutes, but the host Saints (16-4-4) surrendered the overtime game-winner in the 118th minute of play.
