SHREVEPORT, La. — An 18-year-old man alarmed by approaching police cars suffered a head wound from his own gun when he threw it on the ground and it went off, police said.
John Haley was released Sunday from LSU Medical Center. He had been hospitalized Friday night with a wound above his left ear.
Haley; his uncle, Ron Lavell Dotson, 24; and another young man were walking when they saw squad cars coming down the road, Det. Charles Andrews said.
