Ex-CBS Exec Named Chief of Discovery Networks: Johnathan Rodgers, displaced as head of CBS’ TV stations division after the network’s takeover by Westinghouse Electric Corp., was named president of cable’s Discovery Networks USA. Rodgers will be responsible for all business aspects of Discovery Channel and the Learning Channel. He reports to Judith McHale, president and chief operating officer of parent company Discovery Communications Inc., based in Bethesda, Md. Rodgers capped a 20-year career at CBS as president of the stations division, responsible for day-to-day operations of seven owned-and-operated stations.
