Hughes Grants Rights to Technology, Products

FULLERTON — Hughes Aircraft Co. has agreed to grant rights to Philips Electronics Australia Ltd. to sell and lease technology and products of Hughes Transportation Management Systems.
The partnership will provide Philips exclusive territorial rights to Hughes’ technology and products for the Intelligent Transportation Systems market, including vehicle roadside communications, traffic management, commercial truck fleets and an all-electronic toll collection system.
Fullerton-based Hughes TMS is installing a toll system in Toronto where all tolls will be electronically collected at each of 125 onramps and offramps.
