Well-Wishers Tape Video for Tom Bradley

Former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley doesn’t know it yet, but he’s about to receive a surprise get-well greeting like nothing Hallmark has ever produced.

Scores of friends, former colleagues and other well-wishers are taping messages for a video that will include scenes from Bradley’s five-term tenure as chief executive of the nation’s second-largest city.

Bradley, 78, is in a rehabilitation center in Inglewood after he suffered a heart attack and stroke in March.

“All his life, Tom Bradley has encountered obstacles, and he has always overcome them,” said Willis Edwards, who, with state Sen. Diane Watson (D-Los Angeles), is leading the video project. “We want to show him all the people who believe he can overcome this one too.”
