Maumausolo Leads 5 Area All-Americans

Cal State Northridge catcher Scia Maumausolo was a repeat selection on the NCAA Division I All-American softball team Thursday and was joined on the squad by four other area players.
Second baseman Jenny Dalton (Glendale High) of Arizona, and pitchers Lindsay Parker (La Canada) of Fresno State, Heather Meyer (Quartz Hill) of Washington and Sara Griffin (Simi Valley) of Michigan also made the team.
Arizona’s Krista Gomez (Sylmar), Michigan State’s Kerri LeMasters (Canyon) and Northridge’s Jennifer Richardson made the second team.
Fresno State’s Jenifer Henry (Buena) is on the third team.
Baseball
Cal Lutheran pitcher Andrew Barber was named third-team All-American in NCAA Division III.
Soccer
Sweeper Geoff Carlson of Palmdale High has signed with Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
Carlson was the Golden League player of the year, and an All-Southern Section Division III and The Times’ all-area team selection.
Volleyball
The Cal State Northridge women’s team has signed redshirt freshman Ellie Flato from University of the Pacific, senior walk-on Julie Weir and Kristin Lee, a transfer from Moorpark College.
Harvard-Westlake High setter Jason Morrow and swing hitter Rick Rauth were named co-most valuable players of the Mission League.
Campbell Hall opposite hitter Dylan Herrick was named MVP of the Alpha League.
