The festivities that start Thursday morning will continue through the weekend across Orange County. Here is a roundup of the parades, carnivals and fireworks:
JULY 4
* ALISO VIEJO. Fourth of July celebration begins at noon with children’s activities, food and carnival games, ending with fireworks at 9 p.m., Foxborough Park, Deerhurst and Foxborough. Free. Information: (714) 362-5890.
* ANAHEIM. Disneyland’s expanded fireworks show, rides, shows and attractions. Park is open from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Fireworks at 9:35 p.m. at Disneyland, 1313 Harbor Blvd., Anaheim. $34 for adults; $26 for children 3 to 11. Information: (714) 781-4560.
* ANAHEIM. Peralta Canyon Park Independence Day celebration. Entertainment by local bands from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m. $5 a family or $1 a person. The park is at Santa Ana Canyon Road and Pinney Drive.
* ANAHEIM HILLS. Firecracker 5K/10K Run. Registration opens at 6a.m., with run at 7:30 a.m., Canyon High School, 200 Imperial Highway. Cost: $20. Pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. $3 a person. Dog show and competition follows at 10:30 a.m. $5 entry fee. (714) 630-6473.
* ANAHEIM HILLS. Let Freedom Ring Parade starts at 4 p.m., Anaheim Hills Road and Nohl Ranch Road, follows Santa Ana Canyon Road and ends at Imperial Highway. Free.
* BREA.17th Annual Country Fair and Independence Day Celebration begin at 7 a.m. with pancake breakfast at City Hall Park, 1 Civic Center Circle. Children’s activities and entertainment run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Free admission. (714) 990-7771.
* BUENAPARK. Fourth of July Spectacular. Fireworks at 9 p.m., Bellis Park, 7171 8th St. Free. (714) 562-3992.
* BUENA PARK. Knott’s Berry Farm. Park is open from 9 a.m. to midnight, with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. 8039 Beach Blvd. $9.95 to $29.95. (714) 220-5200.
* DANA POINT. Capistrano Symphony Orchestra concert featuring American music on the Watercolor Gardens Lawn at Marriott Laguna Cliffs Resort, 25135 Street of the Park Lantern. Picnic at 5:30 p.m., concert at 7 p.m., fireworks over Dana Point Harbor at 9 p.m. Free for children under 12, $10 for youths 12 to 18, $20 for adults. (714) 240-8584.
* FULLERTON. Fourth of July celebration begins at 4 p.m. featuring food and game booths, entertainment, children’s attractions. Fireworks at 9 p.m. at Fullerton Union High School stadium, 201 E. Chapman Ave. $3 for adults, $2 for children under 13. (714) 738-3167.
* FULLERTON. 20th anniversary celebration at Independence Park pool. Swim prices are those charged in 1976, when the Fullerton pool opened: 25 cents for adults, free for everyone under 18. Pool will be open from noon to 4 p.m. and from 7:30 to 9 p.m., 801 W. Valencia Drive. (714) 738-5360.
* HUNTINGTON BEACH. Holiday pancake breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at 17th Street and Main, $3 a person. The 92nd Annual Fourth of July Parade starts at 10 a.m. at Main Street and Acacia Avenue, follows Main and ends at the Civic Center, Main and Yorktown Avenue. Olympic-themed musical entertainment begins at Huntington Beach High School, 1905 Main St., at 7 p.m., with fireworks at dusk. * IRVINE. Pacific Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Bishop, performs “Spirit of America”: an Independence Day celebration with fireworks. Begins at 8 p.m. at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, 8800 Irvine Center Drive. Tickets available at Ticketmaster, (714) 740-2000. $13 to $51. (714) 755-5799.
* IRVINE. Police Association’s Concert on the Green. Charles Steen Band at 4:45 p.m. Frank Amoss and His Big Band at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks at 9 p.m., Irvine High School stadium, 4321 Walnut Ave. $10 for adults, $5 for children 4 to 12 and for senior citizens, free for children under 4. * IRVINE. 20th Annual Woodbridge Village Fourth of July Parade, 5K/10K Run. Registration for race begins at 6:30 a.m., event at 7:15 a.m. at North Lake Gazebo on Barranca Parkway. Entry fee is $16 to $21. Parade begins at 10 a.m., Barranca Parkway between Lake and Creek roads. Carnival runs from noon to 4 p.m., South Lake Beach Club. Tickets cost 25 cents. Fireworks show at 9 p.m. at the village’s retention basin can be seen from the south side of Woodbridge. Admission to events is $6 a person. Woodbridge residents only. (714) 786-1800.
* IRVINE. Wild Rivers Fourth of July celebration, featuring games, watermelon and pie eating contests and water rides. Park is at 8770 Irvine Center Drive. Admission is $18.95 for those 10 and older, $14.95 for children 3 to 9, and $9.95 for senior citizens. (714) 768-9453.

* NEWPORT BEACH. 38th Annual Independence Day Celebration, barbecue and fireworks at Newport Dunes Aquatic Park, 1131 Backbay Drive. Park opens at 8 a.m., fireworks at 9 p.m. $20 a car. Fireworks visible from many points in the city. (714) 729-1125.
* ORANGE. Independence Day Parade begins at 9 a.m. on Orange Park Boulevard near Salem Lutheran Church, winds through Orange Park Acres neighborhood. Features horses, floats, marching bands and City Council members in an antique firetruck or classic cars.
* PLACENTIA. Fireworks, games and activities at Bradford Stadium, Valencia High School, 500 N. Bradford Road. Features face painting, games and food booths, 6:30 p.m., with fireworks at 9 p.m. $4.50 general admission, $3.50 for ages 13 to 17, $1 for ages 4-12, children 3 and under free. (714) 993-8232.
* PLACENTIA. Early Placentia Fourth of July Celebration, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at historic George Key Ranch, 625 W. Bastanchury Road. Features open house, music in the parlor, exhibits, square dancing, craft demonstrations and food. $3 for adults, $2 for children under 12. (714) 528-4260.

Freedom Celebration festivities begin at 7 p.m. with marching band, Mexican folkloric dancing, Vietnamese musical performances, choirs, patriotic singing, speaker Rosie Greer and 8:30 p.m. fireworks display at Westminster High School, 14325 Golden West St. Admission price is one can of food. * SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO. “Music Under the Stars” featuring a picnic and dancing to Big Band music by Swingfest in the courtyard, Mission San Juan Capistrano, 31522 Camino Capistrano. Guests may bring blankets and lawn chairs. $7 for adults, $6 for children and senior citizens, $5 for mission preservation society members. Tables for 10 available for $85.
