The Yugoslavian national team, featuring Charlotte Hornet-in-waiting Vlade Divac and Sasha Danilovic of the Miami Heat and four others with NBA ties, meets a squad of current and former pros tonight at 7:30 at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion as part of a tune-up tour for the Atlanta Games.
It will be Divac’s final game in Los Angeles as an official member of the Lakers, before his trade to Charlotte becomes official next week. Along with Danilovic, a starting guard in Miami before wrist surgery ended his rookie season, the Yugoslavian roster includes former San Antonio Spur Zarko Paspalj; Dejan Bodiroga and Zeljko Rebraca, whose NBA rights belong to the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves, respectively; and Aleksander Dordrvic, who was once in camp with the Boston Celtics.
Organizers say their competition tonight--the U.S. All-Stars--includes Pig Miller, Duane Cooper, Darrick Martin, Mike McGee, Lester Conner and Larry Spriggs.
