Wislander Shoots Sweden Past U.S.

Magnus Wislander made five goals in six shots as Sweden pulled away for a 23-19 victory over the United States in the opening men’s team handball game for both teams.
Darrick Heath of Hempstead, N.Y., led the U.S. team with four goals.
In other men’s games, Croatia edged Switzerland 23-22, Russia routed Kuwait 32-20, France tripped Spain 27-25, Egypt beat Algeria 19-16 and Germany defeated Cuba, 30-20.
