Lucky to Open at Former Smith’s Site

A new store will be opening at the spot where the Smith’s Food & Drug closed in January.
Stanton City Manager Terry Matz said a Lucky grocery store will be moving into the building at 7910 Katella Ave. The new store will be open in about a month.
Opening a market on that spot will patch a psychic scar on the city of Stanton, said Councilman Harry Dotson.
Its location, at Katella Avenue and Beach Boulevard, is one of Stanton’s busiest intersections. It is also next door to City Hall.
“It also brings an excellent addition to our tax base,” he said. “It is very convenient for the folks in the mobile home parks on Beach.”
