Megan’s Interco, Red Win

DEL MAR — Megan’s Interco made it 13 victories in 26 lifetime starts with a half-length victory over defending champion Royal Chariot in the $71,275 Wickerr Handicap here Wednesday.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, the 9-10 favorite sat just off the pace early, took the lead in the stretch and went on to win in 1:34 1/5 for the mile. The 7-year-old gelding is now unbeaten in three tries on the Del Mar turf course.

Five races later, Red followed up his near-miss in the Hollywood Futurity with a victory over longshot Goaltender and seven other California bred 2-year-olds in the $106,000 Graduation Stakes.
