Arms Seized, 6 Men Arrested in Raid

Police arrested six men and seized weapons and bomb components during a raid in a remote area near the border with the British province of Northern Ireland. Two AK-47 rifles, explosives and some mortar parts were found in the raid in the northwestern County Donegal. The area is about 20 miles from the border with the district of Londonderry in Northern Ireland. Several arms caches belonging to the outlawed Irish Republican Army have been uncovered in County Donegal and neighboring southern counties in recent years.
