Soward on Record Pace for Returns

He has played in only eight games of his freshman season, but USC’s R. Jay Soward is already one-third of the way to Anthony Davis’ career and season records for kickoff returns for touchdowns.
Soward ran one back 78 yards at Washington State on Saturday night, a week after a 98-yarder at Arizona State.
Davis’ career record of six, achieved from 1972 to ‘74, is also the NCAA record. His 1974 one-season mark of three ties the NCAA record.
