BETWEEN THE LINES : Hart Wins Volleyball Title but Loses Coach
- Share via
The Hart High girls’ volleyball team has clinched at least a tie for its first Foothill League title.
But next season, one key ingredient--besides Candace Boller, who will have graduated and will be playing for Loyola Marymount--will be missing.
Coach Kevin Sathre will step down after this season to accept a sales position at a microfilm corporation.
In Sathre’s second season, Hart is ranked No. 4 in the Southern Section Division I-A poll.
“There’s some sadness,” said Sathre, who will continue to coach club volleyball. “I’ve seen a lot of these girls turn into unreal players.”
Junior varsity Coach Ryan Gordon is considered the front-runner to replace Sathre.
