Daylong Seminar to Address Filmmaking

Chapman University’s School of Film & Television will host a conference Nov. 24 on financing, producing and distributing independent feature films.
The seminar will focus on contemporary issues in independent filmmaking and will feature prominent film industry members leading panel discussions, organizers said.
Panelists will include Steven Helvey, producer of the award-winning “Hype!” film; Jon Gerrons, co-president of Strand Releasing; and Randolph Pitts, chief executive officer of Lumiere Films.
The conference is intended for the public as well as film students and industry professionals, university officials said. It will be on campus, 333 N. Glassell St., in the Argyros Forum Room 209 A-C, from noon to 11 p.m.
