The Cal State Northridge basketball team signed Brian Heinle, a 6-foot-9 post player from Eugene, Ore. He is the second recruit to be signed by Bobby Braswell, the Matadors’ first-year coach.
Heinle averaged 19 points and six rebounds for Sheldon High last season.

Palmdale High will receive the No. 1 seed from the Golden League today when the Southern Section draws the Division II playoff pairings.
The Falcons (8-2, 3-1 in league) shared the championship with Antelope Valley (7-2, 3-1) and Highland (7-3, 3-1), but won the league’s No. 1 spot Saturday by coin flip. Highland is the No. 2 representative and Antelope Valley, which reached the division final in each of the past two seasons, is No. 3.
