Pacifica (7-3) vs. Laguna Hills (9-1)
7 P.M. FRIDAY
MISSION VIEJO HS
After opening the season with four victories, Pacifica limped into the playoffs, losing three league games by a total of nine points and qualifying as an at-large team. But don’t sell the Mariners short. They have an experienced quarterback in J.D. Stern, four quality receivers and an experienced offensive line. However, they had trouble stopping teams with rushing attacks, so trying to slow Michael Jones won’t be easy. Pacifica Coach Bill Craven said Anthony Daye is scarier than Jones. “Jones is good but that No. 32, he’s a stud,” Craven said. “He runs hard and he spins and can break tackles.”
