Mental Health Center Opening New Facility
- Share via
The San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center Inc. will hold an open house Sunday to celebrate its new, larger facility, which will house three of the center’s existing programs.
County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and Arleta Crowell, director of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, are expected to speak at the event, which is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. at 14545 Sherman Circle.
The new facility will house the Center for Family Living/Manos de Esperanza programs, which allow clients to live independently and still receive outpatient mental health care.
Also relocating are the Homebound and Adult Day Rehabilitation programs. Through the Homebound program, counselors visit patients at home. The Adult Day Rehabilitation program enables people to maintain or restore their independence and level of functioning in the community.
