SEASON AT A GLANCE: Saugus (6-5) got off to a 1-3 start and finished third in the Foothill League in a season that started with title expectations. But Kobe, a 6-foot-2, 187-pound senior, has helped the Centurions overcome those disappointments by passing for 1,190 yards and seven touchdowns. Saugus has won four of its past five games.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Kobe accounted for 332 of Saugus’ 350 yards in Friday’s 21-13 upset over top-seeded Peninsula (10-1) in the Southern Section Division II playoffs. He completed 21 of 35 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown and intercepted a pass on the final play.
