The Angels selected third baseman Robert Sasser, a double-A player for the Atlanta Braves, in the Rule V draft. Sasser hit .262 with eight home runs and 64 runs batted in for the Macon (Ga.) Braves last season. The Detroit Tigers picked left-handed pitcher Leonardo Patino, who played for the Angels’ Class A team in Boise, Idaho, last season.
