What a difference a half made for Palmdale High in the Thousand Oaks girls’ basketball tournament Thursday night.
After struggling for a two-point lead at the half, the Falcons used their superior outside shooting and defense to pull away for a 69-46 victory over Oxnard in the semifinals.
Palmdale (11-3) stretched its lead to eight after three quarters thanks to the shooting of Edniesha Curry and Casey Bledsoe, who each made two three-point baskets. The defense took over in the fourth quarter, when the Yellowjackets (5-4) were held to two points.
The Falcons were led by Curry with 21 points and seven assists, Monique Nolan with 16 points and 11 rebounds and Bledsoe with 17 points.
