2nd of 3 Men Die in Night of Executions

A second convicted murderer was put to death by lethal injection as Arkansas began only the second triple execution since the U.S. restored the death penalty in 1976. Paul Ruiz, 49, was pronounced dead at 8:00 p.m CST, less than one hour after his partner in crime, Earl Denton, 47, was executed in the same room. A third man, Kirt Wainwright, was also scheduled to die in the execution chamber shortly afterward. Arkansas executed three killers 2 1/2 years ago in the first triple execution since the high court ruling.
