SUN VALLEY — A 64-year-old Tujunga man died after he was hit by two cars while trying to cross a busy street during the height of the evening rush hour, police said.
Dudley S. Farthing was trying to cross in the middle of the 6850 block of Foothill Boulevard at 6 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a black, four-door Chevy Impala traveling westbound, according to Officer Norman Nagengast of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division. Farthing was thrown in the air and hit a second time by a white Volvo station wagon also traveling west on Foothill.
Farthing was taken by ambulance to Verdugo Hills Hospital, where he died of injuries to his head and upper body, Nagengast said.
No charges were brought against either driver because Farthing was jaywalking, police said.
