Post Office Delivers Record Amount of Mail

WASHINGTON — The Postal Service delivered a record 182.7 billion pieces of mail last year.
That amounted to 687 items for each person in the country, the post office said in its annual report, released Monday.
And 91% of first-class mail was delivered on time, up from 86% a year earlier, Postmaster General Marvin T. Runyon wrote.
