Liu Takes Chatsworth Outside

Grace Liu made four three-point baskets in the third quarter to help Chatsworth High rally for a 53-49 victory over Granada Hills in a Northwest Valley Conference girls’ basketball game Wednesday at Chatsworth.
Liu came off the bench to score 15 points and Patricia Nuno had 13 points and seven assists for the Chancellors (8-9, 1-2 in conference play), who trailed, 21-15, at halftime.
In other Northwest Valley Conference games:
El Camino Real 56, Cleveland 31--Cara Blumfield scored 20 points and Aja Diamond had 13 points, eight assists and 11 rebounds for the Conquistadores (9-0, 3-0) at El Camino Real.
Aziza Shepard had 11 points for Cleveland (2-9, 1-2).
Kennedy 68, San Fernando 13--Tammy Barber scored 15 points for the Golden Cougars (15-3, 3-0) at San Fernando.
Birmingham 44, Taft 39--Ava Mozafari had 10 points, but it wasn’t enough for the Toreadors (5-5, 0-2) at Birmingham.

Monroe 76, Canoga Park 21--Freshman Shakaria Jones had 17 points, six assists and six steals for the Vikings (7-7, 3-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Monroe.
Grant 57, Sylmar 40--Leslie Mui had 15 points and seven assists and Jenny Mallon had 15 points for the Lancers (11-6, 2-1) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Grant.
North Hollywood 78, Poly 47--Tashean Thomas had 29 points and 11 steals for the Huskies (14-3, 3-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at North Hollywood.
Van Nuys 48, Reseda 45--The Wolves (6-9, 2-1) outscored the Regents, 33-17, in the second half in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Van Nuys. Veronica Ramos had 17 points for Van Nuys.
Cornerstone Christian 76, Thacher 28--Julia Tamai had 22 points, 13 rebounds and six steals for the host Eagles (13-2, 5-0) in a Condor League game.
Montclair Prep 46, Milken 25--Shannon Simpson scored 18 points to lead the host Mounties (13-3, 4-0) in a Westside League game.
