Russian Oscar Entry to Get L.A. Premiere

The Los Angeles premiere of “Prisoner of the Mountains,” Russia’s Oscar entry for best foreign-language film, will be held today at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The premiere will follow a retrospective of the work of the film’s director, Sergei Bodrov.
The film, about a Chechen father who holds two Russian soldiers hostage in his village home in the hopes of trading them for his captured son, opens in Los Angeles on Friday.
