Pierce Students Offer Help on Tax Returns
- Share via
Pierce College accounting students will again offer free state and federal tax preparation for people who earned less than $40,000 last year.
The service, which will be available twice a week beginning Wednesday and continuing through early April, will be done by nearly 100 trained and supervised students.
The program, established on campus 23 years ago, is a cooperative effort of Pierce College, the Internal Revenue Service and private accountants and accounting firms in the area.
The service is available at the college’s walk-in Tax Assistance Center between 6 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays through April 9, and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays through April 12. The center is located in Room 3217 of the Business Administration Building, 6201 Winnetka Ave.
Last year, students completed forms for about 850 people.
Appointments are not necessary. For information, call (818) 347-0551.
