LANCASTER — A 9-year-old boy died Monday after fire raced through his family’s mobile home, county fire officials said.
The boy’s 38-year-old mother and 5-year-old brother suffered smoke inhalation, but their injuries were not life threatening, said Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Henry Rodriguez. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
Firefighters arrived at the mobile home, in the 45000 block of 25th Street East, at 7:30 a.m. Once they doused the blaze, they found the 9-year-old boy inside the bathroom.
He died later at Antelope Valley Hospital.
