Investigators are searching for a hit-and-run driver who cut off another vehicle Monday, causing an accident in which two people were injured, authorities said.
About 11:30 a.m., the driver of a car believed to be a Honda or Toyota made an unsafe lane change in front of another car while traveling north on Interstate 5 near Camino Las Ramblas, said Carol Kelly, spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol. The second car veered into a concrete guardrail, cutting off a sedan that also spun out of control, Kelly said.
The drivers of the second car and the sedan were injured and taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, Kelly said.
The driver of the first car fled and is being sought by CHP investigators. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the accident to call (714) 661-6215.
