Help Sought in Locating Kidnapping Suspect

Ventura police are asking for help in locating Joseph Alexander Brunes, a 24-year-old transient from the Ventura-Oxnard area who is suspected of kidnapping his girlfriend, 22-year-old Isabell Cordera of Ventura.
Brunes allegedly kidnapped Cordera early Monday morning from the Metro Nite Club, located in the 300 block of East Main Street in downtown Ventura.
“Witnesses said he forced her to leave the club by grabbing her by the neck, and they left in a car,” said Lt. Brad Talbot of the Ventura Police Department. “Neither has been heard from since.”
The car is a 1984 Peugeot, white with gray primer spots, license plate 1PWY366. Anyone with information about the incident should call Ventura police, Talbot said.
