Party to Precede Council Meeting

Hoping to start a new custom at City Hall, officials are hosting a birthday party Tuesday for council members Jan M. Flory and F. Richard Jones.
The free public celebration will begin at 3:30 p.m., before the City Council meeting. Cake and punch will be served in the mayor’s office at City Hall, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave.
Mayor Chris Norby said the party was planned because both Flory’s and Jones’ birthdays are in April. He said he hopes other birthdays of council members will be recognized at City Hall.
Flory’s birthday is today. She is 53. Jones’ birthday is Monday. He will turn 65.
